Athina Vlachaki is an artist from Skopelos, Greece. She discovered her passion for painting early on in life and at the age of seven she excelled with her work “Wedding” in the children’s exhibition of UNESCO in France. This specific artwork can be seen ever since in one of the rooms of the City Hall of Paris. She organizes frequent exhibitions of her work both in Greece and abroad. Ever since 2011, she uses the method of collage on canvas as her expressive medium, blending seemingly dissimilar images into thematic works of art. In November 2012, she was awarded “Commendation” for her participation with only-collage pieces in association with Art Kolonaki and Art Way at the International Art Exhibition “Affordable Art Fair” that was held at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, Seattle Washington, USA, under the auspices of Greek General Consulate in San Francisco. With the sentimentality and adaptability of the female nature in mind, she creates intricate journeys of the womanly figure in odd worlds and different times, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. Every artwork and card postal is a message, with an ever-female sender and the artist’s signature in a stamp, to all art lovers across the world.
